I'm glad this one got passed my way.
As soon as I heard "Intro", I knew I'd like this album. C-Red has great, mindul lyrics - not the usual brand of trite similies, punchlines, and brag (which should never be confused with swag). THIS record here is a breath of fresh air. C-Red raps with purpose. Her voice is smooth, the delivery is on point, and I find myself hanging onto every word. Once you get a few songs in, like "I Need Your Love" and "The Affair", you see it just keeps getting better.
Most of the album is backed by Trill Trax on the beats. Other featured producers include Regi C and Jake. Trill also gets recording & mixing credits. Overall, everything sounds great on the technical end. His tracks have a positive vibe with awesome sounds, samples, and drums. There's high-energy feels like "Intro" and "Hellovanight", and the smoother stuff like "Dinner For Two" and "Partying Ways." If you're an artist looking for beats, or a producer looking to learn something, check out Trill Trax.
"For The Listeners, Vol. 2" is just that - it's for you and me. C-Red and Trill got together, and made an album anyone would want to listen to. Real independent Hip-Hop. Whether you're out, in the ride, or home for a latenight chill session, these songs can breathe new life into your playlists. Get on it.
