Today, we're heading up to the Twin Cities with Exxe's latest release, Untitled For Now...

This album is perfect for showing off what Exxe can do.  First and foremost - skills.  In every song, the Minnesota wordsmith combines thoughtful lyrics with a confident, impressive delivery.  He uses just the right intensity to match each beat.  Those beats are great, by the way, with production mostly coming from Amos, and a couple of tracks from BANGR.

As for content, Exxe switches up from storytelling, to parties, to females, and a spectrum of thoughts in between - but no "filler". He's clear and concise with his words. My favorite songs on this one, so far, are "The Rain" and "Be Easy".  But you can play this album cover to cover, without disappointment.

Support this up-and-coming MC.  I'm telling you - SKILLS.

This week, I found something I hadn't covered yet - Instrumentals!
Today's album is by The ShatterGlass Project - The Angels Sing For Her

This album blends sounds from Hip-Hop, Electronica, Ambient, Rock, and Orchestra to form a unique style.  My musical taste is broad, but I haven't actually heard anything exactly like this, before.  The ShatterGlass Project utilizes great vision AND great talent.  Some of the piano & synth leads show the skill level.  Overall, there's just a lot of crazy, awesome **** going on.

Another cool thing about this effort is that it's a Concept Album, which is something you really don't see anymore.  Plenty of artists say what they feel with a song - but it's special when you can take the time to portray what you feel with an entire collection of songs.  It's refreshing to see, here.  Right now, my favorite part of the album spans from "Her Soul" to "Her Eyes" - and you'll even hear the main themes reprise from time to time, throughout the various songs.  True concept style.

Hats off to The ShatterGlass Project for bringing something new to the table.
